Factors like heredity, stress, and hormonal changes cause overproduction of sebum, which results in the oversupply of P. acnes.

P. acnes secretes a substance which irritates the skin, causing inflammation. This inflammation then develops into acne.

  • Clogged hair follicles

The hair follicles on our skin may be obstructed by sebum or dead skin cells. This may result in inflammation around the area, resulting in a skin problem.

Acne is usually common among people with oily skin. Overproduction of oil on your skin may clog pores and cause complications and inflammation resulting in this and other skin conditions.
